WHAT IS A COLLECTION INVITATION SUITE, AND HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM A CUSTOM DESIGN?

A wedding collection is a pre-designed invitation set that allows for personalized details like names, event dates, and color choices, while keeping the core design elements intact. It’s a perfect option for clients who love our signature style but don’t need a fully custom design from scratch. You get the luxury look and feel with a shorter timeline and at a more accessible price point compared to fully custom suites.

CAN I MAKE ANY CHANGES TO A WEDDING COLLECTION DESIGN?

Yes! While wedding collections maintain the integrity of the original design with font selections and the basic design, we offer customization options like changing the color palette, the justification, adjusting the wording, and selecting your favorite print or paper upgrades. No two suites will look alike once we input your names, text, and wording. For additional design elements such as custom monograms, venue sketches, or foil stamping, you can choose upgrades from our Finishing Touches and From Scratch collection a for a more personalized touch.

HOW LONG DOES THE RGS WEDDING COLLECTION (SEMI-CUSTOM) PROCESS TAKE?

Roughly 3 weeks, depending on print style and orders can possibly be rush printed, if needed. Each listing will specify its lead time— and please reach out to see if we can accommodate your needs if they’re sooner than specified.

How many invitation sets should I purchase?

We recommend about 10% extras. Remember you will need one set per household, not one set per guest.

HOW LONG DOES THE CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS TAKE AND HOW SOON BEFORE MY WEDDING SHOULD WE BEGIN WORKING ON CUSTOM STATIONERY?

The design process can take as little as a few weeks on a rush timeline and as much as several months.  A good rule of thumb is to begin working on your custom stationery 6-12 months before your wedding.

Is guest address printing included?

Yes, invitations and Response cards that come with an envelope include guest address printing.

DO I GET TO SEE PROOFS BEFORE MY STATIONERY IS PRINTED?

Absolutely! Once you've submitted all your details, we'll send you a digital proof for review. You’ll have the opportunity to request revisions to ensure everything is perfect before we go to print. No printing happens until we have your final approval.

WHAT TYPES OF PAPER AND PRINT UPGRADES CAN I CHOOSE FROM?

We offer a range of luxury paper and printing upgrades, including foil stamping, letterpress, vellum overlays, handmade paper, and more. You can also elevate your collection with extras like edge painting, custom die-cuts, and white ink printing.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLAT/DIGITAL, FLAT METALLIC, FOIL, LETTERPRESS & THERMOGRAPHY PRINTING?

Flat (also called Digital) Printing is a print method similar to a personal home printer where ink is printed right on the paper. Of course, we partner with high-quality printers so the end result is much more crisp, vibrant and beautiful. There is no indentations or raised printing of any kind, and the ink lays flat on the page.

Flat metallic printing is a print method where a shimmery metallic ink is printed flat on paper. There is no mirror-like reflection (like there is in foil printing), and the ink is flat on the page (no indentation or raised printing). The result is a beautiful, crisp, shimmery metallic ink that pops off the page.

Foil printing is the application of metallic foil using a heated die. The final artwork design is turned into a printing plate and then that plate “stamps” the design on each sheet, leaving only the design in foil on the paper. Foil printing is slightly indented on each sheet and very shiny, with a mirror-like finish. Some foils are also available in a matte finish where it shines but will not reflect.

Letterpress printing is created using similar methods as foil printing; the design is turned into a printing plate and that plate is pressed onto each sheet with ink to create an indented design (called a ‘bite’) on each sheet. Letterpress printing is very indented on each sheet and that indentation can be seen and felt with your fingertips.

WHEN SHOULD I PURCHASE STAMPS?

We always, always, always recommend waiting until you have your printed invitations in hand, and take a complete suite to your USPS to have them weigh and verify the stamps you will need to purchase – invitations often require the 2oz or 3oz weight, depending on size, weight and components.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER + MAIL OUT MY SAVE THE DATES

ORDER: 6-12 months in advance:

  • 9-12 months If it's a destination wedding or a wedding where many guests will be traveling.
  • 6-8 months if it's a holiday weekend.
  • 5-6 months for a local event

MAIL: 4-12 months in advance

When should I order my on-the-day stationery? 

Book your day-of paper about 2 months ahead of your event.

Can I see samples of paper in person before placing my order?

You can order a sample pack that shows our papers, print styles, and colors!

Do I need to order all of my stationery at once? 

We recommend ordering in three phases. Save-the-Dates first, then your Invitation Suite, then On-the-Day Stationery.
